3 week Kafo install into a 2 minute video

End of October 2019, TDT machine Tools are on their second Kafo machine installation of the month.

Since the last Kafo time-lapse video was published, we have been asked to show another machine in build in more detail.

Larkhill Engineering in Birmingham purchased a Kafo BMC-4122 earlier in the year for delivery October. Larkshills second facility is a large, light airy building giving us the perfect opportunity to position the camera to catch all the action.

 

The video starts with the machine base positioned to allow marking out of all the positions for drilling. You can then watch as the machine is moved in and out of position then the holes drilled. If you’re quick you will even see the guys stop for a well earned coffee break.

Columns are then positioned and fixed to the base, one of which has the electrical cabinet fitted.

Table cleared of additional items stored for shipping, then protective grease removed.

Toolchanger carousel craned into place

Guarding around the crossbeam then allows the pendant and Heidenhain TNC640 control to be fitted.

Tool changer guarding then wire in the machines electrics, hydraulics and pneumatics.

At 50 seconds in (approximately 1 week), power is connected and the machine fired up.

Machine alignments and fine levelling

Then the jigsaw of guarding now need to be fitted on this fully enclosed machine.
