TDT Service team expands and invests in Renishaw laser calibration equipment
TDT Machine Tools, a leading UK supplier of quality CNC machine tools, is expanding its service provision in line with ongoing company growth. Phillip Braime, previously of Asquith Butler, has joined TDT as a Service Engineer. His extensive experience in machine tool service requirements will help TDT further increase its customer support offer.
Mr Braime saw the opportunity to join TDT Machine Tools as too good to ignore: “I’ve seen from afar how TDT has expanded in recent years,” he says. “Without doubt they are one of the UK’s fastest-growing machine-tool companies. It’s always good to come on-board a business when word is really beginning to spread. The range of machine-tool manufacturers represented by TDT was another reason behind my decision – these are quality machines with highly competitive prices.”
TDT offer milling machines by established brands such as Kafo, Fidia, Feeler and Pama, as well as turning machines by Feeler, OMG Zanoletti, IMT Intermato and Force One. With sales increasing across a wide range of UK industries, TDT took the decision to increase its service support.
The Kafo double column range of machines seems to be creating the biggest interest and Phil will oversee all aspects of the pre and post-sales support for new and existing customers.
A former time-served apprentice, Mr Braime worked as a Service Engineer at Asquith Butler for nearly eight years, before which he was employed since his apprenticeship at a manufacturer of robotic profiling machines, again in service-related roles.
“Moving forward, my role will be to oversee installations, develop preventative maintenance plans with customers across the UK, and manage our call-out activities,” he says. “I’m looking forward to meeting our customers and discussing the optimum ways of looking after their machines.”
Simon Hewson, Managing Director at TDT Machine Tools, adds: “Phillip has exactly the qualities we were seeking for this role: he is experienced, technically gifted and personable. We are looking forward to seeing Phil help TDT further enhance its service offering for customers.”
TDT have invested over £30,000 of laser and ball bar calibration equipment. The requirement for machine tool laser calibration is becoming a key service we need to offer. TDT sell large double column machines which produce extremely complex parts for aerospace and ministry of defence contractors. These machines in particular have to conform to rigorous calibration procedures and TDT can ensure all of their customers receive this service without having to use a sub-contractor. TDT is ISO9001 accredited and to maintain this accreditation, the work we undertake must of the highest standard and show full traceability and compliance.
